Dear all
At the League committee meeting on Wednesday night, several things were discussed which need to be brought to the attention of teams and spectators.
Fixtures:
The second half of the season is coming up, and we need to be aware of any dates that are booked for BISHA tournaments etc. Please note that it is a league ruling that teams are only guaranteed 2 dates for holidays, and any BISHA recognised event. Any other requests will be considered, but we cannot promise anything.
Conduct:
As organisers, our jobs are becoming increasingly difficult due to the level of abusive comments from both players and spectators to match officials. Team managers are to keep an eye on both players and spectators behaviour during matches, and in the penalty box, and take action accordingly. Spectators will be asked to leave if they are found to be inflaming the situation. We have no problem with you supporting your teams, but please confine your comments to encouranging and applauding your own teams/club. Booing is strictly off limits!!!!!
Photographs:
We will be preparing a letter to be signed by all team managers giving permission that photos may be taken during games and used to promote the sport by both Internet and Press means.
Please note that only the League publicity offcier wil be allowed to take photographs in the downstairs pitch area. Please also note that we do not have any control over pictures taken from the balcony or elsewhere in the Centre, as it is open to the public. If your spectators are taking photos, please ask them not to use flash photography.
Changing Rooms:
Team Managers MUST check the changing rooms, as we had a complaint from the centre last week that someone had smeared banana over the changing rooms. It is this sort of thing that could lose us yet another venue, please monitor your players behaviour. I'm afraid to say that includes Senior team management!!!!!
If any club needs a template for a publicity leaflet, let Barry Scales know as he has one for Warriors that can be modified to suit your club.
Finally, we hope to arrange a referee and timekeepers course soon, so get recruiting!!!!!! Warriros are organising this, so let them know about anyone interested.
regards
Liz
